An Atlas of Breeding Birds of the Burren and Aran Islands 1993 - 1996

Geographic Coverage: The Burren region of north Clare and the Aran Island of County Galway



Temporal Coverage: The breeding season from 1 April to 31 July in 1993, 1994, 1995 & 1996.

Data Capture Method: Each tetrad within the area was visited at least once and any birds seen were recorded, and indication of breeding category noted. Up to 50 fieldworks submitted records to the Atlas organiser.



Data Capture Purpose: To produce distribution maps, on a 2km x 2km grid, of all birds seen in the region during the breeding season between 1993 & 1996.



Original Format: Data submitted in hard copy cards. Inputted into DMAP for purpose of generating distribution maps.
