Irish carbonate and associated biogeochemistry in seawater from the Celtic Sea 2009 - 2015
This dataset contains measurements of biogeochemical data in seawater collected on multiple research vessels surveys on board the RV Celtic Voyager and RV Celtic Explorer by the Irish Marine Institute and the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) as part of collaborative work. The dataset contains measurements of nitrate + nitrite, nitrite, phosphate, silicate, dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, salinity measured in discrete Niskin bottle-sampled seawater samples and associated CTD data– salinity, temperature , depth and dissolved oxygen and additional metadata. This work was undertaken as part of the annual Marine Institute Winter Environmental Surveys and also surveys as part of various collaborative projects NUI Galway – Marine Institute to establish baseline carbon system measurements in Irish waters. This is a subset of data held by the Marine Institute from Irish waters covering the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea and South West shelf area. Surveys took place between 2009 and 2015. These data were included in an assessment of alkalinity inputs into the Celtic Sea (Humphreys et al submitted).
