Marine Sediment Carbon
Raster file showing contribution to the regulation of greenhouse gases (carbon) through carbon sequestration associated with the marine environment. Atmospheric carbon is sequestrated by and stored in the marine environment through the process of photosynthesis by phytoplankton with the resulting microbes passing into the food chain. The other main method is via dissolution and chemical reaction of carbon dioxide and water forming bicarbonate which is likely to be stored in marine sediments. Data were gathered between the years of 2007 and 2015. None
