This map shows those areas where Technical Guidance Document - C is to be used. The map is based on an analysis of indoor radon measurements plus geological information including, bedrock type, quaternary geology, soil permeability and aquifer type.

Technical Guidance Document - C (TGD-C) that supports Part C of the building regulations is published by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. TGD-C requires radon preventive measures to be fitted in new dwellings located in High Radon Areas. High Radon Areas are shown in red on the map. An area that is not shown in red is not a High Radon Area.
For reference, if needed, the previous radon risk map can be seen by switching on the “Radon Map pre May 2022”.
