This data will support the characterisation of waterbodies for the 3rd Cycle of River Basin Management Planning. Section 4's (under the Water Pollution Acts) are Local Authority Licensed industries that discharge trade effluent into waters. The majority of the data was collected from the relevant Local Authority but additional data was acquired from EPA, Irish Water, GSI, RPS, DECC and DHLGH. It was attempted to verify the location of each point with a confidence value applied using a traffic light system. A confidence value of green or orange was achieved on approximately 83% of the dataset and this represents the dataset currently published. Approximately 17% of the dataset could not be mapped or were mapped in obviously incorrect locations and, so as to avoid confusion, were excluded from this dataset but are available upon request from EPA.
