Purpose

Assessment and reporting on emssions, concentrations and depositions of air pollutants, the quantity and significance of transboundary fluxes and related exceedances to critical loads and threshold levels. The combination of these components provides also a good basis for the evaluation and qualification of the EMEP estimates.

Statement

An EMEP monitoring site carries out air quality monitoring under the Convention for Long Range Trans boundary Air Pollution. The samples collected form monitoring sites are analysed by Met Eireann and data is submitted to NLIU(Norwegian Institute for Air Research) via the EBAS portal http://ebas.nilu.no/ Some sites are inactive as they were closed down by operators or for operational reasons sampling was no longer feasible .
