The CLC 2000 database (CLC00_IE) was created by first assessing and correcting the CLC90rev_IE database and images for geometric and thematic content using improved technologies and methodology. An updated land cover database was then created using Landsat TM satellite imagery. The minimum mapping unit was fixed at 25 hectares. Linear features smaller than 100m wide are not considered and generalised. This version of Corine has level 4, 5 and 6 codes for peat bogs and pasture. These were included to CLC00_IE in order to map land cover classes related to important habitats in Ireland however have not been included in CLC06_IE. The EPA must be notified if any errors or emissions are found. It is not permitted to distribute electronic copies of this data to any other party without the prior consent of the data holders (Environmental Protection Agency). The data source must be appropriately acknowledged.
